At Mark Rutherford School we understand the importance of a consistent approach to teaching and learning across the school, to support students in developing transferrable skills, to encourage them to be independent thinkers and to help them access our broad and balanced curriculum. Based on Rosenshine’s Principles of Effective Instruction, we created six pillars of great teaching and learning, which underpin our classroom and wider practice at Mark Rutherford. Our clear routines for learning are underpinned by the six pillars to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning.
