Careers is an important aspect of our curriculum and our programme supports students through key milestones in their education. We have a well-planned, informative careers programme to support our students aspire to fulfil their potential. We want all our students to leave us with a clear pathway and an understanding of the world of work so that they can achieve their ambitions, be positive role models and make a positive contribution to our society. We evaluate our careers programme using the ‘Compass’ evaluation tool which is based on the Gatsby Good Career Guidance Benchmarks. This enables us to compare our school to each of the eight Gatsby Benchmarks and allows us to identify areas for improvement and helps us to plan our careers strategy for the year ahead.
Our Careers Lead is Mrs Unwin. If you are a parent/carer or external agency who would like to discuss careers further, please contact Mrs Unwin via our school telephone number or click here to email.
In addition to our Careers Lead, students have access to an impartial Level 6 Qualified Careers Advisor, Helena Cooper. Helena is in school every Friday and is based in the library. Appointments for a one-to-one interview can be made with her through Mrs Unwin or by contacting her directly at Helena.Cooper@bedford.gov.uk.
