KS3 Assessment As part of the development of our teaching and learning we have introduced assessment criteria for all subjects for Years 7, 8 and 9. The assessment criteria supports parents\carers to have an ongoing dialogue about your child’s progress. In the same way students and teachers will be able to have effective conversations about learning progress. • Embarking For each baseline we would expect students to be at the following progress levels by the end of each academic year:
That is not to say that students cannot make better than expected progress, it is perfectly possible for a student with a Foundation baseline to attain Developing progress, for example. The assessment criteria have been designed with an increasing level of demand across Year 7, 8 and 9. For example, a student with an Intermediate baseline and progress of Developing at the end of each academic year, will be making their expected progress. The assessment criteria for each subject are provided below:
