At Mark Rutherford, we believe that any complaints should be handled as sensitively as possible.
The school will respond to any complaint as soon as possible. Once we know about a problem we can usually deal with it effectively. However, sometimes a more formal framework is required and this can be found in a document entitled “Complaints Procedure”. More information can be found in the School Prospectus available here.
Parents should address any complaint they have to the Principal in the first instance:

Principal and Leadership Team
Every child and parent has a right to discuss any issue which they wish to raise with the Principal or another member of the Leadership Team. However, in general, it is advisable to talk to other staff who have a direct involvement first, and can usually respond and resolve the issue raised more quickly. If the outcome is not satisfactory, and you feel that all routes to a solution have been followed without success, members of the Leadership Team can be contacted via e-mail as above or by contacting Mrs Wade, who is Mr Peacey’s Personal Assistant on 01234 290244. She will then be able to forward your enquiry to an appropriate member of the team who will endeavour to respond to you within 48 hours.
The school is developing a sophisticated Learning Platform so that all students can benefit from a Home Learning programme via the internet. Many students, including those with special needs can already access the platform – called Netmedia – and full use will be in place by early in the next school year. For enquiries regarding the platform, contact Ms Samosa on 01234 290247.
