GCSE Welsh Board Catering:
Students selecting this subject will be given the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in the preparation and serving of a range of food products. The course is very practical and allows for lots of making. The new specification for 2009 reduces the written coursework element even further and coursework now comprises to practical tasks under supervised conditions which represent over the two years 45 hours of work. The pictures below are the work of a previous year group.

GCSE Food Technology 2009
Students studying food technology will explore aspects of food and how products are developed and made in the food industry. Students will undertake a major project in year 11. This year the theme we have chosen is to develop snack products suitable for lunches that could be served in supermarkets.

Students will identify potential products and then research and develop one final piece using the same skills as would be used in the food industry.
