History Department at
Mark Rutherford
The History Department is currently accommodated is in 4 dedicated classrooms. The Department is friendly, enthusiastic and supportive. All staff share in the teaching of years 9 to 13 in delivering the following courses:
- At KS3 Britain 1750-1900 and The twentieth Century World. A depth study in year 9 concentrates on World War I. Classes at KS3 are taught in ability groups.
- At KS4 students cover the OCR Modern World syllabus with two pieces of coursework on the USA in the 1920s and a depth study on Germany.
- In the 6th Form students pursue the Edexcel AS/A2 course. Current modules are: Votes for Women / US Civil Rights / FDR / The British Empire / The US in SE Asia / The Cold War.
